However, PCB is a customized product, the production process is complex, and the production cycle is long. So if the delivery time can not meet the customer’s requirements, we can only choose to expedite the processing of orders. At this point, our PCB factory will add a rush fee. Upfront cost
As an expedited order, PCB pre-investment is much. Because of the time limit, each process’s time is fixed, and each production process flow must be very smooth. If a certain percentage of the process appears abnormal quality, rush order is not to do subsequent processing, will directly scrap.
Then move on to the next stage. Conventional presets are typically 20% — 40% . For some difficult boards, such as HDI board, high multi-layer, dense board, pre-cast, we may even preset several times more than the quantity of orders.
Risk cost
An urgent order must be very critical to the customer. Since receiving the accelerated fee, the board factory must ship the goods to customers in the specified time.
As for the time risk in this process, the quality risk is assessed and borne by the board factory itself. Especially for some complex boards, it is more likely to appear scrap or even the risk of all scrap redo.
Personnel and equipment
Our PCB factory will be listed first in the production process card on a special note for urgent orders. For example, make a red list so that each workstation will attract attention, priority list. But the PCB production process is too many, and each order situation is not the same, so we need a special production planner for the accelerated boards to follow up.
In our PCB factory, you can often see planners carrying boards around the workshop, which is common.At the same time, urgent order priority will inevitably affect the production line capacity. PCB many processes need machine equipment production.
To guarantee the delivery of urgent orders, the machines are ready to change production lines at any time. If machines a day interval on several urgent orders, its capacity is bound to have a significant impact.There are some cases, such as the urgent orders need to do photographic film alone, screen, even some batch urgent single too critical, need to open a separate plating slot. These will increase a lot of hidden costs. As a result, Rush orders not only take up the cost of labor but will also take up the plant’s fixed capacity.
By introducing the above three points, I believe that we have a general understanding of the acceleration fee. As for the charge standard of the accelerated fee, it is not fixed. Different manufacturers are not the same, not much difference. For special orders, it needs to be specifically assessed.
