Engineer’s cost of processing drawings and data
In the PCB industry, ordinary single and double-sided PCB board factories are piecework, making engineering work of 10 ~ 15USD. However, for handling multi-layer PCBs, an engineer has to deal with it for half a day to one day.
If we have any EQ problems or encounter the HDI boards, our engineer will handle it for 2 ~ 3 days. The minimum daily salary of an engineer is 50USD. You can roughly calculate the cost.
Photographic film and screen printing fees
Some fast board factories put together a lot of boards to one array board. In this way, the costs of film and screen can be spread at a very low. However, for impedance PCBs, because of their unique impedance requirements. They are required to be done separately photographic film and screen. These costs depend on the sizes and the actual PCB types’ number of the array boards. For boards with size 20X20CM, the file and printing cost is about 10 ~ 15USD.
In general, 4 layers PCB requires 8 films: including 4 line layer photographic film, 2 solder resist layer film and 2 screen printing layer film. These costs add up to a lot of costs for photographic film.

Startup fee
